North Attleboro, MA – July 25, 2025 — Drivers in North Attleboro should prepare for overnight lane shifts and brief delays beginning Monday, July 28, as the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) begins work to replace the traffic signal cabinet at the intersection of Route 1 and Allen Avenue.

The project, which will take place during the overnight hours, is part of a broader effort to improve traffic flow and upgrade aging infrastructure along one of the town’s busiest roadways. Crews are expected to begin work at 8 p.m., with construction continuing until the early morning hours to reduce disruptions during peak daytime traffic.

MassDOT officials have advised motorists to allow extra travel time and use caution while driving through the area. Temporary lane closures and detours may be in place as workers replace and update the intersection’s signal equipment.
