North Attleboro Sports Update and Pet Adoption Spotlight
It’s been an active stretch for North Attleboro athletics, with local teams competing across several sports and delivering a mix of results for fans following along this winter season.
The North Attleboro hockey team recently faced Canton in a hard-fought matchup but ultimately came up short. Despite the loss, the game highlighted the team’s effort and competitiveness on the ice. The squad later rebounded with a strong performance against Taunton, securing an important win and giving the team positive momentum as the season continues.
In other local sports news, the North Attleboro swim team took part in the Hockomock Swim Championships, where athletes represented the school among the league’s top competitors. Meanwhile, standout athlete Frankie Strachan earned a top honor in Hockomock League football, recognizing his performance during the season and his contribution to the program.
Beyond sports, the community also has an opportunity to support a local animal in need of a home.
Meet Big Tuna, a friendly cat estimated to be about two to three years old. He has already been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, making him ready for adoption. While Big Tuna may appear a little shy at first, staff say he enjoys attention once he warms up and especially appreciates being brushed and petted.
Big Tuna would do best with a patient adopter who can give him time to adjust to a new environment. Treats and gentle attention are a great way to help him feel comfortable. Though he may have spent time outdoors in the past, he’s ready to settle into life as a relaxed indoor companion.
Anyone interested in adopting Big Tuna can complete an adoption application either in person or online through the North Attleboro animal adoption program.
Stories like these highlight the many ways the North Attleboro community comes together—whether cheering on local athletes or helping animals find a new home.
