North Attleborough Seniors Learn the Ropes of Modern Tech with Help from Local Teens
North Attleborough, MA – August 2025 — Seniors in North Attleborough are getting more comfortable with today’s tech, thanks to a hands-on workshop happening later this month.
From August 25 to 28, Richards Memorial Library will host the Senior Technology Program, a community-run series that helps older residents feel more confident using smartphones, apps, and the internet. The free workshop covers practical topics like online safety, recognizing misinformation, and exploring AI and mobile apps in everyday life.
What makes this program especially unique is who’s teaching it—local high school students. These teen volunteers work one-on-one with seniors, answering questions and helping them navigate everything from text messaging to using health apps.
“This isn’t just a class,” said one library organizer. “It’s a chance for seniors to stay connected, and for students to give back in a meaningful way.”
The sessions are designed for all comfort levels, whether someone’s picking up a smartphone for the first time or just wants help organizing their email. It’s a relaxed, welcoming environment where no one feels rushed.
The program is open to all North Attleborough seniors. Walk-ins are welcome, but space is limited, so early sign-up is encouraged.
