Attleboro Juneteenth Celebration at Capron Park Zoo June 21

Attleboro is preparing to celebrate Juneteenth with a community event at Capron Park Zoo on Saturday, June 21. The celebration will take place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to everyone. It's being organized by the Attleboro Juneteenth Committee and will feature activities for all ages.
This event is part of a larger regional effort through the Southeast Juneteenth Coalition. That coalition includes local groups such as the National Black Doll Museum, the Bristol Black Collective, the African American Heritage Association of Brockton, and Black Lives Matter Rhode Island. Together, they are working to highlight Juneteenth not only as a historical date but also as a celebration of culture, community, and empowerment.
Visitors can expect live performances, artwork, speakers, and hands-on activities. Food vendors will be available, and the event will also include exhibits that help educate guests about Black history and heritage. Organizers want this to be a day that is both fun and meaningful.
This year marks the fifth time that Attleboro, Fall River, and Brockton have teamed up to host Juneteenth events. Their goal is to continue building on that momentum and encourage even more towns in the area to create celebrations of their own.
On June 21, Capron Park Zoo will become a gathering place for reflection, connection, and celebration. Residents and visitors alike are invited to take part. Anyone interested in volunteering, becoming a vendor, or helping sponsor the event can find more information through the Attleboro Juneteenth Committee.
